What is DWELL all about?

The DWELL project addresses the critical need to integrate digital wellbeing into educational systems, particularly in light of increased digital engagement following the COVID-19 pandemic.

The project's mission closely aligns with the call's vision, particularly its emphasis on digital on digital education's profound impact within the educational ecosystem. By delving the dynamics of digital tools in educational settings, the project aims to elevate learning experiences while prioritizing the holistic wellbeing of students and educators alike. This encompasses a comprehensive understanding of well-being, surrounding physical, mental, social, cognitive and emotional dimensions, emphasizing the feeling secure and empowered in online environments while navigating them adeptly. The project also aims to equip parents and educators with the necessary guidance and tools through online courses which provide background knowledge, skills and guidelines, addressing pressing issues such as cyberbullying, digital identity theft, online etiquette, and filter bubbles. Additionally, it will tackle ethical concerns, ensuring that all participants are well-informed and equipped to navigate the digital landscape responsibly. Ultimately, the project seeks to foster a digital education ecosystem where everyone can flourish, bridging the gap between theory and practice to enrich educational experiences and safeguard the well-being of all involved.

OBJECTIVES

Objectives of the project are the following:

  1. Empower educators with effective strategies and recourses to promote balanced technology use and foster digital resilience among students.
  2. Conduct research to understand prevailing digital practices, challenges, and successful interventions in European schools.
  3. Develop a practical framework for integrating digital well-being principles into educational practices.
  4. Pilot test the framework in diverse educational contexts to gather feedback and refine its effectiveness.
